Sacred Sounds: An exploration of Yoga, Poetry and Mantra

The vibrational music of mantra has proven benefits for mental and physical well-being. But what if we were able to unlock similar healing powers in an art form closer to home?

This four-hour workshop will explore the fertile ground where Sanskrit sacred sounds meet the Western art of poetry.

Guided by an expert mantra teacher and a passionate lover of poetry, you can relax into the flow of sound and tune into the natural rhythms of your body and mind.

Through recitation and practice these two oral traditions will add a new dimension to your yoga. You will:

  • Learn the two most important yogic mantras that create mental balance and help you take responsibility for your own happiness.
  • Experience how the cadence of poetry stills your mind and promotes a state of reflective calm.
  • Relax, meditate and re-energise.

When: Sunday 2nd September 10am -2pm
Where: Kunsang Yeshe Retreat Centre, Medlow Beth
Cost: $60 (includes delicious vegetarian lunch), payable by 26th August 2012.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners, including beginners (Please note that there are a maximum of 12 places).
